Repair Vintage Doll

I tried to tidy up before starting anything else but, got the sewing machine out and experimented a bit, so that's all over the table. Then I didn't want to put the paints away because that's a major job to start over, so they're all over the table.

And to top it off, I wanted to see if I could repair a lovely vintage doll which I bought months ago (got the book, special elastic, and tools etc.) and that's also on the table - and I put her glass eyes away in a safe place at the time and now can't find them. So until I unearth them I'm stuck - but I took a picture!

I had a great time last night at my cousin Rosalinda's 60th birthday party - live band, buffet and drinks, and best of all she'd compiled a video of family photos from our grandparents and when her parents were married up to the present. It was wonderful to see family for once at a happy occasion instead of funerals.

I've changed my profile photo to one taken last night.

I've just had a really wonderful mini-break in Paris. As I've been before I didn't do the tourist trail but instead I rummaged the flea markets and the fabulous vintage shops - stacked with amazing clothes at inviting low prices. I am about to unpack the treasures I found. Amongst other books I bought a kind of unusual version of Alice in Wonderland with great artwork.

And more ACEOs

They're coming fast and furious now - I finished loads today and will list them on FOLKSY bit by bit.

Here are a couple:

A bit rusty

I had a sudden urge to make ACEOs and realized it wasn't that easy!! I honestly spent ages trying but they just wouldn't come together.

So I decided to re-organize my bits and pieces and came across some pictures and stamps I'd forgotten about.

I've been working on a different style of painting - still mixed media but a mixture of abstract and representational and like the result. It never ceases to amaze me that my paintings always take their own direction and that's what I find challenging.
