This'll cheer you up!

When I read this, I chuckled out loud. So I thought I'd  post it - my sentiments exactly!

I drink champagne when I'm happy and when I'm sad. Sometimes I drink it when I'm alone. When I have company I consider it obligatory. I trifle with it when I'm not hungry and drink it when I am. Otherwise, I never touch it - unless I'm thirsty.

More art

A few more paintings listed on Etsy - a couple of textured flowers and a mixed media painting 'I Can Sing Too'. I seem to be having a run of artwork at the moment, and have also joined in various swaps. I think deadlines are good for me!I_can_sing_too Peony2 Tulips

Art Doll Cushion

I was just fiddling around not sure where I was going with this and it turned out to be a handquilted cushion. The caption reads *The Body Says What Words Cannot*. I used a piece of vintage damask (part of my hoarder's stash LOL) and it's listed on EtsyArt_doll

New art

I haven't been doing anything for sale for ages so decided to get myself organized. I've been doing a bit of artwork this week and have started putting the first of them up on ETSY - it is a textured acrylic painting, slightly stylized, of a peony:Peony1

Changes

I've made some important decisions and have started putting them into action. Things which were of vital importance at the time have proved not to be at all. The hard part is knowing when to let them go. These changes are of a personal nature so I won't go into detail - but they have freed me up to do the things that really matter to me, so I'm holding onto my hat!!! The first will happen tomorrow....

Here's my 'junque' canvas Sisters, not sure if it's finished though - comments welcome!!Gartel2

Junque update

I've been having the hardest time deciding what to use on my 'junque' canvas. It has slowly come together and I like the theme (children) but the focal point is the niche and that's what I can't seem to do. Would be great if I could raid some child's toys LOL. I'm definitely going to finish this piece today and will post a picture later on.

Just Junque 1

You know what it's like - new techniques, push myself to create something that's different from my normal style - use colours that I normally avoid - outside the box blah, blah! Well, I did try but I had to start again 3 times because I just hated what I'd done, used red, used pink, used ochre..... but finally I got a lovely milky coffee colour with tiny bits of underneath colour coming through.  The scan doesn't show the true colour though, sorry!Beautyanddecay

Then the fun began, choosing what would be the focal point, and trimmings etc. I used bits of a rusted necklace, vintage china doll's leg, old watch, bit of lace, drawer pull, and a lovely image from a collage sheet I've had for ages. This canvas is called Beauty and Decay.

Finished collages

A lady who had bought one of my fabric collages asked if I'd make more using her own photos. So my new Epson R285 printer was put to the test. The fabric images are perfect and I'm happy that it really does what it says!! Here they are:Zofia4 Violette4

Colour Play RR

I have finally managed to do my spreads for this Round Robin - we've all been quite slow so I'm not alone LOL. The technique was 'crackle' but could I get it to do what it says on the tin??? Very frustrating! And in the end, and because I used canvas, I attacked it with a razor blade. Well it's definitely not crackle, but it's different...hehe!!Forkim1 Forkim2
