Using pigments to make paint
I've had some pure pigments in really delicious colours for simply ages.
I tried to make paint using the traditional method where you make a puddle of water
and carefully stir in some pigment (use a mask cos they're harmful if breathed in)
and mix it well together.
and mix it well together.
But the result was disappointingly thin and not much colour to it.
So then I tried mixing the pigment into white acrylic paint
and that was a huge success
and now I can make my own lovely colours
in beautiful pastel shades that I couldn't find in the shops.
Sometimes the most simple things are the best!
