Still Waiting

This folk art painting 'Still Waiting' is mixed media on wood. It sold today on Etsy almost straight away.

How to cook a turkey - ho ho ho!

HOW TO COOK A TURKEY:

First, buy the turkey and a bottle of whisky.
Pour yourself a glass of whisky and put the turkey in the oven.
Have another 2 glasses of whisky, and set the degree at 375 ovens.
Have 3 more whiskys of drink and turn the oven on.
Take 4 whisks of drinky and turk the bastey.
Stick a turkey in the thermometer, and glass yourself a pour of whisky.
Bake the whisky for 4 hours, take the oven out of the turkey, and floor the turkey up off the pick.

Pour yourself another glass of turkey. Now just tet the sable, and turk the carvey! :) a very Merry Christmas xxx

Dreamy Watercolor

My mood seems to be painting flowers.
I love the dreamy quality of watercolors which express nature's beauty in such a lovely way.

Watercolour Original

I literally just finished drying this painting with a heat gun - so impatient! It's really wonderful that these watercolours retain their hues even after drying - Winsor and Newton's don't!!

Contemporary Beach Painting

For a change I painted only with watercolours and it's true what they say about St. Petersburg paints by White Nights -
easy to load the brush and the depth of colour is unrivalled. So here's my painting now in my shop

New Painting Affordable Original Art

I did this painting a few days ago but wasn't sure if it was finished so left it in a prominent position so I could glance at it as I passed. I did add some little bits and am satisfied that it's ready to launch now!!

Enter Delphine

I thought I'd look out some paints and colours I hadn't used for a while and started messing around with beeswax, acrylics, metallics and lumieres. Then I pressed into it with a metal spike and started to draw 'Delphine' - this painting looks different when the light is shining on it as the pearly metallics show up more.

The Beastie

Something completely different - here's my painting of The Beastie. I love lime green!! And it goes so well with my prized possession painting by Laura Sutherland where the colours are very similar although I didn't set out to do that!

The Happiness Project

I'm reading The Happiess Project by Gretchen Rubin and she writes about the satisfaction of clearing out and gaining space in the house which sometimes doesn't even get filled!! I know I've read this kind of thing before but it got me started yesterday. First I cleared out my art room and got rid of stuff I used to use but no longer need to hold onto, my love of altered art seems to have moved on.

I've tackled another mammoth task which has been bugging me for ages. I've been downloading all my CDs onto my laptop and only have about 10 to do, and they're going to the charity shop tomorrow. Why did I keep them for so long? I feel like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders and I definitely feel good. And I have empty shelves - can that really be my house????

This one's for me

It wasn't till I'd finished this and was painting the edges that I saw the wood had a chip out of the side. How could I not have noticed that?? So I put it in my kitchen and I really love it.
It's in acrylics.

Shabby Chic Inspirations

I devoured every page of Rachel Ashwell's new book which arrived today. She truly is an inspiration. She shows how the simplest ideas can transform old unused and dilapidated items to make a sumptuous charming home.

I have many of her books and still love to look through for ideas. I've all of my life been a shabby chic lover though I didn't know that's what it was called!

Words for Hair

DD2 gave me this beautiful picture by a local artist for my birthday. I love the stark black and white with a hint of rust, and the image on the right has tiny tiny words in place of her face. It reminds me a little of Egon Schiele's work.
