A decision

You may remember that I was building a website for my paintings. Well I've been toiling for 3 months and it's not getting any easier - and I have had to submit help emails frequently. So I thought ENOUGH!! I cancelled everything. And who knows how many hits it would have got anyway.

My paintings are on the Saatchi website which is free to list and they do not take commission on sales. I'm still waiting to sell anything but with several million hits every day, I think it's a great place to be.

I also placed two of my paintings in a virtual room and they do look better. I've put them on Etsy if you want to see.

Heard of Folksy?

I first read about Folksy on the Etsy forum - it's in the UK (although they're going international next month). I joined and listed a couple of pieces here, they don't charge commission and it's only 20p to list an item and it's so good to price in £ and easier to calculate postage.

This week has just come and gone and I must start painting today. I had a great time with my friend Lolly who showed me how to use polymer clay 'correctly'.

On with the "to do" list and still doing fine with my new year's resolution!

A Place to Advertise Your Art

I'm sure you already know the Art-e-Zine website filled with inspirational artworks - well apart from the Yahoo group ArteZineCafe  there is now a sister group ArtComms which I moderate for advertising your items for sale and where buyers can also be found. Everything the lists owner Gillian Allen does is superb, so have a look and you might want to join in!

WOW

Today has been monumental! Firstly, yesterday I packed up my mother's clothes etc. and it's truly amazing how much stuff a 93 year old can have. ~Today we went to the care home which is run by nuns and they were so sweet giving her kisses to welcome her. Her room is lovely too. And this is the first night back in my bedroom and I feel just great - I'd often thought how nice it would be to have fairy lights in there, so you know what! I wrapped them round my 4-poster and it looks fab.

And now for the really great news - today I received confirmation that my fabric artwork has been selected for one of Stampington's magazines, either Sew Somerset or Art Quilting Studio, I'm so excited. I think 2009 is going to be a year to remember!!

Starting to Get Back to Me!

I've been inundated with a to-do list for my mother who is going to the care home next week. Have taken her to buy a bed, bedside table, lamp, floor rugs, duvet, bedspread, dressing gown (that now makes 8 in the past 12 months) - don't ask!! Ah yes, the phone -- must admit I felt robbed of my sanity - by the time I'd made four calls to BT in the UK, I found myself speaking to a call centre in India - a very trying experience and the accent didn't help!!

So now I'm feeling much better and going to meet a dear friend for coffee and away to the coast tomorrow to see another very dear friend and her new house. Feelin' goooood!!

Resolutions?

I've been in serious mode for too long and those in the UK will understand when I say that I listen to BBC Radio 4 - OK time to change, new year, new Evie.

Courtesy of DD1 I've discovered 'Duffy' a Welsh singer - so original. I have the beginnings of playlists and the Ipod is ordered as the shops had sold out over Christmas. I'm downloading Amy Winehouse as I write and I feel on top of the world.

AND I've decided to wear my 'best' clothes every day so I'm sitting here all dolled up and nowhere to go hehe!

Hope you've all made your new year's resolutions ....
