Today I finished some grungy wallets - and they are listed on ETSY if you'd like a peek. This sort of art really excites me because it's beautiful (I've got my immodest hat on today) and functional too. And I never get bored making them as they are all one-of-a-kind. Each wallet has a piece of authentic vintage jewellery pin. Here are a few pictures:

Eyebrows
I went to a favourite antique shop yesterday filled to the gunnels with fantastic stuff, the shop is absolutely spilling over and the old lady has to show her wares on the pavement. When she closes, she literally stuffs it back in right to the door - I'm sure she's forgotten what's in there at the back. Didn't buy anything but had such a laugh with the elderly owner. She asked how my eyebrows were such a good shape - hers have almost disappeared and she feels like she's vanishing. So I told her to buy an eyebrow pencil in a soft grey and I'll go back to help her use it LOL! I was with my cousin and she and I have fringes (bangs) and the old lady asked if they were a good idea for her! In fact, I think it would be, as fringes half hide the eyebrows. This lady does house clearances - oh what wouldn't I give to go with her....

"Never Forgotten"
I am honoured to have been able to take part in a remembrance book for Joanna Pierotti following her mother's unexpected death. If you'd like to see more of this beautiful publication put together by Chel, go to ZNE.

Paintings
I've been in a kind of muddled mood with all sorts of things half started and not going anywhere fast. I have also put away all my sewing stuff and will concentrate on painting for a while. So I decided today to list a couple of paintings on etsy - I did these ages ago and came across them while looking for something else.
I'm also in the mood for baking bread and got some fresh yeast today. I inherited a bread maker from my mother but I still prefer the hands-on approach.

Yesterday
I got caught in the most dreadful weather yesterday - beautiful sunny day in the morning and I went out. The heavens opened, I had no hat or umbrella, and it was chucking down sleet and hailstones. I looked like I'd just stepped out of the shower. And my bag with art paper etc. was open to the elements so a lot of curly paper once it dried. I didn't have the heart to unpack it right away. Well, they say 'what doesn't kill you makes you stronger' hmmmm!

Workshop today
I attended a mixed media heads workshop today. I used to be able to draw and paint heads quite well, but it's been so long since I did any that I was rusty today. I didn't know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised - the tutor was gifted, not only in showing us what we could achieve, but also in critiquing our efforts and offering really helpful hints. I'd love to show you some paintings but they're really not something to write home about but will be useful for me to work on some more. I'm not used to being on my feet for over 6 hours and I'm tired tonight but will be full of pep tomorrow!!
