Can't believe..

.. that I haven't posted anything for ages!! The days have been consumed with printer problems - couldn't get my HP printer to work with Vista so I bought a fabulous Lexmark all-in-one. It does everything except fry an egg LOL. But printing colour photos onto fabric was such a disappointment, all wishy-washy and faded and no option to increase ink flow.

So I googled reviews and comparisons till I was blue in the face. But it was time well spent - I have an epson (vowed I'd never buy another epson because the last one was trouble from the first day and ended up in the bin) stylus photo R285 and I'm so delighted. This prints EXACTLY the colours I see on my laptop and I've never experienced that before. And printing onto cotton is a dream come true!

Creating Textures

I've been experimenting with texture on cloth (I used an old flour bag) with gesso and paints, then embellishing with different things - some paper beads, hand sewing and buttons etc. and am writing a tutorial for Art-e-Zine yahoo group which should be ready for Monday. Here are the samples:

ACEO

I'm a member of an Ebay group and the theme this past week was an ACEO of a 'favourite book'. I chose An Angel at my Table by Janet Frame which I could read again and again. I've also seen the film. Anyway, here's the ACEO:

Wild Goose Chase

I just felt like doing something pleasurable today so I went to my favourite craft supplier which takes about 45 mins. and two buses - and when I got there, they were closed for alterations. What a waste of time! So am saving that up for February.

It's not as if I have nothing to do LOL, I have at least 4 projects in various stages, and some more I haven't even started yet.  And I'm still trying to get the Paypal storefront to work - why is everything so difficult? And my email was down for 6 hours today.... Ok enough complaining and off to do something creative!

My twinchies

I've got my twinchies ready to mail for the swap run by Wendy for the Yahoo group Cloth Paper Studio. The theme is 'winter' so they're all white and quite hard to scan - I've done my best!!

Getting back to normal

I'm very pleased to say that I've managed to lose almost all the weight I put on over Christmas. No more chocolate till Easter! Well, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration!

I've even finished some artwork but I can't post photos because it's got to be unpublished work.

I have a really good feeling about 2008 - and I've made a very positive start signing up for workshops at the College of Art, Mixed Media Heads and Mixed Media Beauty and Decay. Can't wait!!
