Mini Board Book

I altered this teeny board book for a swap - the theme I chose was the Renaissance. Although the pages are small (2" square) it took quite a bit of time to do. Here are the scans:P1010026 Page1 Page2 Page3 Page4 Page5 Page6

Spilling Open

I have ended up with 2 copies of Sabrina Ward Harrison's Spilling Open - The Art of Becoming Yourself. If anyone is interested and would like to make me an offer, please email me (it cost £12Spillingopen).

A new ATC

I have been playing around with a new ATC and have drawn the face instead of rubber stamping. It's a bit whimsical and was great fun to make. It's called 'Magenta' and is on ebay. Hope you like it.Magenta

P.S.

The ATCs look a bit wishy-washy here but they're not in IRL - I hope ebay's colours are better.

Glorious Sunday

Today has been a taste of summer - absolutely glorious and no chilly breeze - bought some bedding plants, a potato masher (has anyone noticed how difficult it is to find the shape we've become accustomed to - they're all right angle ones!!), some art supplies and a table lamp (to replace the one that fell onto the floor whilst hoovering - that should be a lesson to me LOL).

I've been making some ATCs and I just can't resist stitching them somewhere - anyway they're on ebay and here they are:Crowned Nautilus

little fabric fancy

My mother celebrates her 91st at the beginning of May and is coming to stay for a few days. She always says she has everything she could ever need and not to get her a present - as if!! So I decided to make her a little fabric fancy - part quilted and adorned  with lace, mother-of-pearl shells and beads and sequins in pink and white. Here it is:Formama2Formama

Needles and Pins

The results of yesterday's sewing bonanza is:Flutterby_2 Fluttering_1 the smaller picture here is actually much bigger than the other which is an ATC - typepad does some strange things. I've listed them on ebay hoping that someone will covet them LOL.

More Sewing & Good Friday

I've had a lovely day, sewing to my heart's content and making a bit of a thready mess. I also tidied my 'playroom' as there was nowhere left to walk without danger LOL. So I've got a couple of things that I want to list on ebay -- and I'll post them later.

I can remember when Good Friday was a day of fasting and NO meat. I've meandered a long way away from all that, and the good thing is "no guilt" - had chicken for tea! And I didn't give anything up for Lent..........

A new quiltie

I surprised myself by really enjoying the hand stitching on this piece. And I am choosing fabrics out of my usual colour scheme, and I think it has worked quite well. I've listed the quiltie on ebay here, it reads "You don't need anyone but yourself".Bike_1

I was asked, along with many others, to make a condolence ATC for a member of a Yahoo group whose 40 year-old son died suddenly - so very sad. It wasn't an easy task.

Collaborative Journal

I've just finished a spread for a collaborative journal RR -  I read an aticle in the new Cloth Paper Scissors which led me to try out a different kind of background and it is better than anything I've done before. I've overcome my fear of ruining my rubber stamps by dipping them in acrylics - what do you think of it??Forliz_1

Cabinet Cards

I am really enjoying altering cabinet cards - they were all so stern in those days, God forbid a smile!! I've listed them on ebay, they are Grace's Evidence and Very Desirable.Desirable_1 Grace_1

today's offerings

As I have left my new sewing machine up and raring to go, I decided to make some fabric ATCs. This is the first time I've made ATCs totally from fabric and I even hand-stitched the images. I always thought that that was a long job, but actually it's not and I enjoyed doing them. They're here on ebay. I've got the bug now!!Greta Carmela

fabric art

I have a passion for house-shapes and ages ago made one out of fabric - liked it but didn't know what to do with it. Anyway, I started messing around with it and it's ended up as a wallhanging. It was fun to make and could be the first of many! I couldn't fit it all in the scanner, it has a satin loop for hanging, I've put it on ebay today here. Libbylou

lace for dyeing

I was lucky last night at the Embroiderers' Guild meeting to find a bag full of old real lace, some silk fabrics and lovely bits and pieces -- and bulging bags of beautiful bugle beads. For anyone out there familiar with dyeing, some of the lace is milky coffee coloured and I'm wondering if I dye it, will it just turn a muddy colour?? Thanks for any hints.

added some photo albums

I've started loading photos here as I intend to cancel my Picturetrail when the current subscription expires. Still got more to do, but it's a start. We've had a glorious sunny day in Edinburgh (although a bit cold still) and the house has been filled with sunlight. And the garden is starting to burst into various shades of green - just beautiful.

where did it go?

One of my messages has disappeared -- maybe I'm more 'shook' up with the fall than I imagined. Anyway I was just saying that I become attached to some of these quilties and find it hard to offer them for sale.

CRAZY QUILTIES

OOps, forgot to put the pictures in -- Chocolate Dreamsteach2 Monday Secretcould be that I tripped and fell today in town and semi-fractured my watchglass == could have been worse, might have been a bone or two == and I felt such a plonker!!

printing set

My good friend Linda told me about a vintage printing set on ebay here in the UK and I was lucky enough to get it. It's a pre-decimal grocer's ticket set with words such as 'per tin', 'per lb' etc. and large low case and upper case letters and numbers. It's absolutely wonderful. But the original cardboard box is falling to bits. Inside there are wooden sections to hold the stamps. I don't know how to repair it. Maybe part of the attraction is its well used state. Anyway, I've already used it and it's fab!!

I'm in the middle of sewing some crazy quilties and will put them on ebay, they're offering free gallery and subtitle soon.

I found some lovely pieces of old lace and crochet during my charity shop blitz and am wondering how to use them. I always feel guilty when I cut them up but I suppose it's a bit like using old unwanted books for altering. Who uses tray cloths and doilies these days??? Because I can't resist them, I now have enough to open a shop (well almost LOL).
